Kuala lumpur: Coordination between the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and other enforcement agencies will continue to be strengthened to ensure the forfeiture and disposal of immovable assets, such as buildings and land, can be carried out more efficiently.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated that initiatives like the MACC Chief Commissioners’ Roundtable Conference, held today, serve as key platforms to foster closer cooperation between the agencies involved. He emphasized that each agency has its procedures in this process and is responsible for ensuring smooth implementation. MACC places significant importance on collaboration and synergy between public and private agencies to enhance the asset forfeiture mechanism.
Azam highlighted that the forfeiture and disposal of immovable assets is crucial to prevent criminals from enjoying the proceeds of their illegal activities, sending a clear message that crime does not pay. Also present at the conference were MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya, Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Director-General (Enforcement) Datuk Azman Adam.
