Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities involving the tender process of the MyKiosk project under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus announced that the commission initiated a preliminary investigation after a complaint was lodged by a political party. The Governance Investigation Division has also started a parallel investigation into the project.
Zainul stated that in addition to KPKT, which submitted a full report on the tender process and award, several other parties involved have provided documents related to the project. The MACC’s investigation will focus on identifying any elements of corruption and irregularities in the tender process.
The investigation is being conducted under the provisions of the MACC Act 2009. In May, the KPKT submitted documents related to the MyKiosk Project to the MACC, demonstrating the ministry’s commitment to transparency and integrity in the project.
According to KPKT, all procurement and contractor appointments for MyKiosk were carried out by 133 local authorities (PBT) via open quotation processes.
