LPT3 Implementation and Vape Product Distribution Under Scrutiny in Dewan Rakyat

Kuala lumpur: The proposed implementation of the East Coast Expressway Phase 3 (LPT3) through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, alongside measures to curb the distribution of harmful vape products targeting youths and school students, are among the primary focuses of today's Dewan Rakyat sitting. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Order Paper on the Parliament's official website highlights that during Question Time, Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (PN-Dungun) will inquire about the government's key considerations for implementing LPT3 via the PPP model. His questions will address potential implications for toll rates and the project's timeline. Additionally, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (PN-Masjid Tanah) is set to question the Home Minister regarding stricter enforcement measures to curb harmful vape product syndicates targeting young people and students. Attention is also directed at P. Prabakaran's (PH-Batu) inquiry to the Home Minister on strategies to alleviate persistent congestion at the nation's en try points, including efforts to expedite immigration clearance processes. Further, Salamiah Mohd Nor (PN-Temerloh) will pose a question to the Health Minister concerning the effectiveness of digital public healthcare initiatives, such as MySejahtera and electronic health records, in reducing congestion at government hospitals. Today's session will proceed with the winding-up debate on the Motion on the 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) by the relevant ministers. The Second Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament is scheduled for 16 days, concluding on July 16.
