Legoland Malaysia Highlights Local Cultural Elements For TMJ 2026

Kuala lumpur: Legoland Malaysia Resort has expressed its continued commitment to highlighting local cultural elements with distinctive Malaysian flair in support of the Visit Johor Year (TMJ) 2026 campaign. Its vice-president, CS Lim, emphasized the theme park’s ongoing efforts to promote local culture through seasonal celebrations and thematic events.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the theme park prioritizes celebrating local culture and festivals through Lego-themed decorations, cultural performances, and activities that showcase Malaysian heritage. Ahead of TMJ 2026, Legoland Malaysia plans to enhance this cultural focus through seasonal campaigns, special events, and strategic collaborations to offer visitors a unique experience rooted in Malaysian identity.

The Johor government aims to attract 12 million visitors from both domestic and international locations in conjunction with TMJ 2026. Lim mentioned that package deals are available that combine visits to Legoland Malaysia with other attractions such as Mersing Island, Desaru, eco-tourism, and cultural heritage sites in Johor, providing a comprehensive exploration of the region.

Lim highlighted that the park draws a significant number of visitors from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, contributing to economic benefits in the Iskandar Puteri area. The presence of the park supports various sectors including hotels, shopping malls, transport services, and food and beverage outlets, thereby creating job opportunities for the local community.

Comprehensive preparations are underway to accommodate the anticipated increase in visitors by 2026. These preparations include upgrading facilities, enhancing staff skills, hiring additional personnel, and planning for improved visitor capacity management, which may involve extending the park’s operating hours.

Lim noted Johor’s potential to become a leading regional tourist destination, citing its strategic location and the development of key infrastructure projects like the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and expanded transportation networks. Johor’s accessibility to international tourists via road, ferry, or flight from Kuala Lumpur and Changi Airport, along with its proximity to Singapore, positions it as a strategic location for tourism growth.
