Terengganu: The Ministry of National Unity (KPN) is aiming to have 10,000 school students participate in the ‘Inspirasi Pelajar Inovasi Muzium’ (IPIM) or Museum Innovation Student Inspiration programme within the next year. This initiative is designed to cultivate historically and culturally informed students to promote racial unity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, KPN’s Deputy Minister K. Saraswathy announced the collaborative effort involving the Department of Museums Malaysia and the Ministry of Education (MOE) at the launch of the 2025 national-level IPIM Programme. The event took place at the Terengganu State Museum, with the involvement of 41 museums across federal, state, and institutional levels in Malaysia.
The IPIM programme includes five key sessions: briefings by museum officials, teaching and learning (PdP) activities, gallery visits, reinforcement exercises, and reflections to assess students’ understanding. Originally piloted in 2015, the programme faced delays in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed in 2021.
Saraswathy highlighted that 1,680 students had already participated in the programme at 41 museums nationwide on the launch day. She emphasized KPN’s commitment to supporting initiatives that foster unity and togetherness among Malaysians.
State Tourism, Culture, Environment, and Climate Change Committee chairman Datuk Razali Idris also attended the launch, underscoring the significance of the programme in promoting unity and harmony, while instilling a sense of national pride among students.
