Kuala Terengganu: The Terengganu Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has reported seizures totaling RM725,439.86 related to 338 cases of various offences from January 1 until yesterday. These cases were documented during inspections at 9,738 premises, which included retail shops, supermarkets, and wholesale establishments throughout the state.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the division’s director, Mufsi Lat, highlighted the significant developments resulting from enforcement actions over the past three years. In 2024, the value of seizures reached RM3.96 million, a substantial increase compared to RM997,059.69 in 2023. Additionally, fines rose from RM6,000 in 2023 to RM102,500 in 2024, indicating a more concentrated effort in addressing high-value embezzlement cases. These remarks were made during the 53rd KPDN Enforcement Day Celebration at the state level, which was inaugurated by the ministry’s Deputy Director General of Enforcement (Prevention), Aris Mamat.
Mufsi also mentioned that the KPDN enforcement division in Terengganu conducted inspections on 293 premises under Ops Tiris and 186 premises under Ops Gasak during the same timeframe. Ops Tiris resulted in four cases, with seizures valued at RM431,437.60, while Ops Gasak recorded seven cases with seizures amounting to RM68,065.70.
