Kuala lumpur: Some 100,000 goods and public land transport company vehicles nationwide are eligible for RON95 petrol subsidies under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS). Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali revealed this information, noting that the estimate was derived from the integration of SKPS data with the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) system.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, although registration for the scheme opened on Monday, the number of company vehicles from both sectors remained low, totalling only 335 vehicles from 154 companies. Of these, 240 vehicles from 70 companies belong to the public land transport sector, while 95 conveyances from 84 enterprises are from the goods transport sector.
Armizan emphasized the importance of timely registration, urging all eligible goods and public land transport companies to register immediately to ensure they receive the subsidy benefits from the first day of implementation. He shared these insights with reporters after visiting the Lok Kawi Height temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Kinarut.
He further explained that eligible companies must apply for a Fleet Card from three designated petrol companies after completing the SKPS registration process. Armizan expressed hope that all goods and public land transport company vehicles will take advantage of the RON95 petrol subsidy, as it is intended to help reduce the impact on consumers as a whole.
