Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Football League (MFL) today confirmed that two Super League clubs, Kelantan The Real Warriors (TRW) FC and bottom-placed PDRM FC, are facing cases involving outstanding player salary arrears.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MFL announced that Kelantan TRW were directed by the Financial Fair Play (FFP) First Instance Body (FIB) on November 14 to provide proof of payment or a payment plan by December 31. The salary arrears concerning Kelantan TRW pertain to wages for the 2024-2025 season under the club's previous ownership. No outstanding salaries have been recorded for the 2025-2026 season.
Additionally, PDRM FC, who are also dealing with salary arrears for the current season, have been instructed to submit the necessary FFP documents before the specified deadline. MFL stated that decisions regarding these salary arrears cases will be discussed in an upcoming FFP FIB meeting.
The league's governing body emphasized its collaboration with the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFM) to address player salary arrears cases through the FFP framework. Currently, Kelantan TRW stands 11th in the league with 11 points after 13 matches, while PDRM FC is at the bottom with six points.
In November, both clubs were fined RM70,000 each and received transfer bans for the second Malaysia League transfer window, which opens this month, due to non-compliance with MFL directives regarding financial declarations and reports.
