Kedah Ruler Urges Graduates to Share Skills, Continue Learning for Success.

SINTOK: Sultan of Kedah Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah has urged graduates to share their talents and skills in order to make a positive impact and provide benefits to society. His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of using one’s success to benefit others, emphasizing the role of graduates in contributing to the community and society at large. He stressed that success should not only serve personal interests but should be shared for the betterment of others.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sultan reminded graduates of their responsibilities towards people, religion, and the nation, urging them to use their talents to make meaningful contributions. He encouraged them to be individuals who bring pride to their families, universities, and the nation. This message was delivered during the 37th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) at Dewan Mua’dzam Shah.

The Ruler also emphasized the importance of continuing education and maintaining curiosity to navigate the
challenges of a complex world successfully. Meanwhile, UUM Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan announced that 6,742 graduates from the class of 2024 will receive their scrolls at the convocation. Of these, 5,539 are graduates, and 1,126 are post-graduates.

Prof Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan reported that 1,681 graduates will receive First Class honours, and 84 graduates will be awarded various academic excellence awards and medals. Two graduates will receive the Royal Education Award, and one will be honoured with the Chancellor’s Gold Medal Award. Recipients of the Royal Education Award will be awarded RM7,500 and a certificate, while the Chancellor’s Gold Medal recipient will receive RM4,000 and a certificate.
