Johol NADI – Digital Platform To Benefit Over 5,000 Local Residents

Nohol: The recently-opened Johol National Information Dissemination (NADI) centre not only serves as a platform to disseminate the latest information on government initiatives to rural communities but will boost digital proficiency, especially among youth, under training and skill programmes, creating digital content, e-sports and digital innovation. Johol assemblyman Datuk Saiful Yazan Sulaiman said almost 5,000 residents around Johol can benefit from the centre, which will help strengthen the digital economic ecosystem.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the government’s main goal is to ensure no one is left behind in national development, so Johol NADI is expected to be a catalyst to government efforts to strengthen the digital economic ecosystem in the area. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to make use of the facilities to expand their market reach for their products through e-commerce platforms and boost the local economic growth. This was highlighted during the launch event attended by Negeri Sembilan Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) director, Ts Md Tahir Musa.

Currently, there are 11 primary and four secondary schools, as well as local entrepreneurs actively involved in food production in Johol. The NADI centre will help expand the products produced through e-learning programmes. Saiful Yazan also pointed out that NADI could help boost awareness on cyber security and digital systems among senior citizens to prevent them from falling prey to scammers. Residents in Johol can verify suspicious messages with trained staff at the centre.

Food and drink entrepreneur Rashidah Jaafar mentioned that NADI had taught local traders to promote their products on digital platforms using the facilities at the centre. The centre also aids students in learning more about technology, including robotics and artificial intelligence, which are now part of the school curriculum.

Meanwhile, Jalaluddin Alias described NADI as a means for youth, especially in rural areas, to expand their knowledge in computer and digital fields, benefiting their learning and work prospects. Johol NADI is part of 11 new centres out of a total of 62 being developed in Negeri Sembilan, which began operating between September 20 and December 27.
