Kuala lumpur: The Immigration Department conducted a raid at a popular eatery in Kampung Baru under Ops Selera, targeting suspected illegal employment of foreign workers. The operation, led by 11 officers, followed a weeklong surveillance and resulted in the arrest of four foreign men aged between 30 and 40.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur Immigration director, Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff, stated that the four foreign nationals, including two Bangladeshis, one Pakistani, and one Indonesian, were found to have overstayed, lacked valid documents, and breached employment rules. A local, believed to be the supervisor, was also questioned by the police.
Wan Mohammed Saupee further revealed that initial findings indicated the foreign workers had been employed at the eatery for a period ranging from five to six months. The case is currently classified under Regulation 39(b) and Sections 15(1) and 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/1963.
