Govt Plans Nationwide Roadshow for Feedback on Anti-Bullying Tribunal

Kuala lumpur: The Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department (BHEUU, JPM) is set to launch a nationwide roadshow aimed at collecting public feedback on a proposed Anti-Bullying Tribunal. Communications Minister and Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil announced that the initiative seeks to engage the public and stakeholders in refining the processes, laws, and mechanisms that will underpin the tribunal.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the roadshow will commence in Kuala Lumpur, spearheaded by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said. The effort includes holding engagement sessions and town halls in each state to gather insights from the community regarding the tribunal’s establishment. Datuk Seri Azalina’s office will release detailed information on the roadshow’s locations, times, and participation methods.

The announcement followed a Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, where Azalina provided updates on a Special Committee Meeting on Tackling Bullying Issues. The meeting involved key government officials and representatives from various ministries and agencies, discussing steps toward creating the tribunal.

Among the points discussed was a suggestion by the Children’s Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) that the tribunal focus on cases involving individuals under 18. This proposal remains preliminary, and further meetings are planned next week to delve into the planning aspects for the tribunal’s establishment.
