Floods: Khairul Aming Hopes For Ongoing Donations To Collection Centre.

KOTA BHARU: Renowned entrepreneur and influencer Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman hopes various parties will continue donating essential items for flood victims in Kelantan through the collection centre he operates here. Khairul Aming, as he is affectionately known, said the centre, located in a wedding hall and run by a management committee of 10 members along with hundreds of volunteers, is currently facing a shortage of aid items due to limited supplies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the biggest challenge over the past four days has been the supply of goods, as the local supplies in Kota Bharu are insufficient. Therefore, the centre relies on items sourced from outside the region. Khairul Aming mentioned that the recent floods have impeded the delivery of aid via land routes, but the situation has improved, allowing supplies to arrive from Johor, Selangor, and other areas. He expressed hope that incoming donations would continue smoothly in the coming days.

The collection centre is open to aid sponsorships
from any party, whether they are large brands or small traders. Khairul Aming highlighted the centre’s efforts in distributing aid to 17 destinations, including relief centres, madrasahs, schools, and homes, reaching approximately 7,200 victims within just two days. The centre is also collaborating with the Malaysian Civil Defence Force to deliver aid using trucks to assist 6,000 victims, including those trapped in inaccessible areas.

Quality control is a priority for Khairul Aming’s team, as they inspect the items received to ensure they are not expired or unusable. He urges donors to provide quality items that they themselves would use, emphasizing respect for the flood victims’ circumstances despite the emergency situation. The communication team at the collection centre actively conducts live streams on TikTok to update and coordinate assistance for areas in need. They plan to deliver supplies directly to these locations and collaborate with boat owners for areas unreachable by car.

Khairul Aming added
that the centre would remain operational at least until next Wednesday, after which the focus would shift towards post-flood assistance. Meanwhile, Bernama observed that volunteers, including locals and university students, were diligently preparing individual aid packs for distribution. The aid items are systematically categorized into dry food, clothing, disposable diapers, baby formula, and medicines to streamline the distribution process.
