Fahmi Urges Johoreans Living Outside State To Return Home To Vote

Johor bahru: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has urged Johor voters living and working outside the state to return home to fulfil their civic responsibility in the 16th Johor State Election on July 11. Fahmi, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) Communications director, emphasized the importance of the state election in ensuring national stability through alignment between the state and Federal governments. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi highlighted the significance of having a state government that can collaborate effectively with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted that over the past three years, the Federal Government has notably supported Johor, allocating more resources to the state than to Selangor and other regions. He attributed Johor's success to the presence of a stable Federal Government, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation. Speaking at a charity dinner attended by DAP secretary-general and Transport Minister Anthony Loke, PH's Johor State Elect ion director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and several PH candidates from the Muar area, Fahmi expressed hope that voters would support PH candidates contesting all 56 state seats. He emphasized the need for stability and collaboration with the Prime Minister to ensure continued investment in the state. Fahmi assured that PH would maintain a clean campaign despite facing provocations from opponents. He urged voters not to be intimidated by deceptive tactics, stressing the need for courage to build a better future with PH. The 16th Johor State Election will feature 172 candidates vying for 56 seats, with polling scheduled for July 11 and early voting on July 7.
