Ensure Livestock Health Before Aidiladha Sacrifice – State Exco

Negeri Sembilan: Individuals or organisations planning to perform qurban (Aidiladha sacrifice) in conjunction with Aidiladha must comply with the conditions and regulations set by the Negeri Sembilan Veterinary Services Department (JPVNS), including ensuring that the livestock has a valid Veterinary Health Certificate. Negeri Sembilan (Rural Development, Plantation and Commodities, Agriculture and Food Security and Costs of Living Committee senior chairman Datuk Seri Jalaludin Alias emphasized the importance of these measures to ensure that the animals are healthy and free from diseases, particularly zoonotic diseases, to protect public health and safety.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, all parties involved must also ensure any livestock movement is accompanied by a Livestock Transfer Permit and an External Slaughter Permit from JPVNS if the slaughter is to be conducted outside a licensed abattoir. Jalaludin noted that adherence to these rules and regulations is necessary, and he encouraged individuals or organisations involved to register with the e-qurban system monitored by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS). He stated that the state government aims to ensure the sacrificial rites are carried out in a more orderly manner, with the help of certified butchers.

During a press briefing at the Port Dickson District and Land Office auditorium, Jalaludin assured that the supply of beef and livestock from local breeders in the state this year is sufficient. He mentioned that there is no issue with cattle supply in Negeri Sembilan, and so far, no complaints have been received about the price of qurban cattle being too high or increasing compared to last year. The price range for cattle this year is between RM4,500 and RM6,500, depending on size and weight.
