Johor bahru: The eGate system disruption at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) remains unresolved, with border control operations continuing as usual and limited impact on foreign passport holders.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency shared on Facebook that the situation across all zones remains under control, allowing Malaysian citizens to use the eGate facilities without issues.
The agency noted that the disruption affects only foreign passport holders, who can still access the eGates at specific locations, such as the Incoming Bus Hall (eGates 19, 20, 21, and 22) and the Outgoing Bus Hall (eGates 5, 6, 7, and 8). The Malaysian Immigration Department, along with AKPS, is actively working on repairs and monitoring the situation to resolve the issue.
To alleviate congestion, AKPS has advised foreign visitors to download the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) application and utilize QR and manual counters available. They also emphasize the importance of adhering to guidelines and instructions and prioritizing those in need to ensure comfort and safety.
The media previously reported that the technical disruption caused significant delays, with tens of thousands of foreign nationals queuing for extended periods at the BSI and Second Link land entry points between Malaysia and Singapore.
