Kuching: Deputy Prime Ministers and Cabinet Ministers conveyed their condolences to Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg over the death of the Sarawak Premier’s wife, Puan Sri Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described her passing as a significant loss to the people of the state. He highlighted that her contributions and service were greatly valued in Sarawak and noted that her absence is deeply felt by both her immediate family and the wider community.
Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated, “The Premier’s late wife, whom I had the honour of knowing, was deeply committed to charitable and social work, especially in empowering women and communities in Sarawak.” He also mentioned visiting the Sarawak Premier’s family to convey condolences on behalf of the federal government and expressed the solidarity and prayers of all Malaysians.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof used social media to express his sorrow over the loss, acknowledging the impact of her passing on both her family and the people of Sarawak. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu also shared similar sentiments, offering prayers for the family and the departed.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri emphasized the deceased’s role as a supportive partner to the Sarawak Premier and her influence within the community. She remarked on the significant impact Juma’ani had on those around her, extending beyond her family to touch the lives of many in Sarawak.
Other ministers, including Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, and several others, also offered their condolences to the Sarawak Premier. Juma’ani passed away at a private medical centre in Kuching. She was 76.
