Kuala lumpur: Dobot Malaysia Sdn Bhd is targeting RM3 million in revenue this year as it expands its operations within Malaysia. The company’s local footprint marks a significant step in its global expansion strategy aimed at driving technological innovation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dobot Malaysia’s Country Manager for Malaysia and India, Kent Goh, emphasized the importance of this expansion in boosting productivity and promoting Industry 4.0 adaptation. Goh noted that the growing demand for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliance is accelerating technology adoption. Additionally, rising wages and stricter controls on foreign labor are increasing the need for automation solutions.
Dobot Robotics, a China-based company specializing in intelligent collaborative robots, was founded in 2015 and has shipped over 80,000 units globally to more than 80 countries. In Malaysia alone, over 500 units have been sold in the past five years.
The Malaysian operations will focus on the automotive and consumer electronics sectors, offering products ranging from RM10,000 to over RM100,000. Dobot Robotics co-founder Jun Jie Xie highlighted the company’s growth strategies during the branch’s grand opening, which include empowering smart manufacturing, integrating industry education, enhancing localized services, and developing an innovation ecosystem.
Dobot is set to provide tailor-made solutions for local manufacturers, optimizing processes such as electronics assembly, welding, and quality inspection to enhance global competitiveness. By partnering with system integrators, technology providers, and manufacturers, Dobot aims to create a collaborative robotics ecosystem that fosters innovation and comprehensive automation solutions.
Looking ahead, Dobot Malaysia plans to expand its operations to Penang next year, aiming to capture a larger market share within the country.
