Kuala lumpur: More than 290,000 students have benefitted from the Cha-Ching Curriculum introduced by Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) a decade ago to enhance financial literacy and practical life skills among the younger generation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PAMB chief customer, marketing, and product officer Chee Foong Wai stated that more than 4,600 teachers had also been trained under the programme during the same period to enhance the delivery of financial literacy education in schools. She highlighted that the Cha-Ching Curriculum had been rolled out in more than 2,000 schools in 11 states since 2016 through a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Education, Junior Achievement Malaysia, Pertubuhan Dana Kita, and Prudence Foundation.
Chee Foong Wai mentioned, 'Through the Cha-Ching Curriculum, we help children develop positive financial habits from an early age, enabling them to make informed decisions, act responsibly, and navigate the future with greater confidence,' in a statement today.
Earlier, PAMB, in collaboration with Prudence Foundation, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Cha-Ching Curriculum through the Cha-Ching Carnival 2026 held at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Wangsa Maju here. Over the next decade, PAMB and Prudence Foundation aim to expand the programme's reach, particularly among underserved and Orang Asli communities, while strengthening teachers' capabilities to support the sustainable delivery of financial education in schools.
Prudence Foundation senior director Philip Shin expressed that the initiative aims to bring financial education to more children and communities while empowering teachers to continue imparting financial knowledge and extending learning to the home. He said, 'Our intention is to make financial literacy an essential life skill that becomes part of children's daily lives and benefits them in the future.'
The Cha-Ching Curriculum focuses on four core concepts, namely generating income, saving, spending, and donating, to help children develop practical skills and positive financial habits that can benefit them throughout their lives. Learning is also extended beyond the classroom through Cha-Ching Money Adventure, an interactive online platform that enables parents and children to explore financial concepts together.
