BOOKING AMBULANCE MADE EASY WITH MALAYSIA’S FIRST EMS APP

KUALA LUMPUR: Poised to transform the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) industry, FirstHealthAssist is Malaysia’s first-ever ambulance booking app, offering users seamless access to ambulance services with a tap on their mobile devices.

According to Bernama News Agency, the collaborative initiative between Digital Vibes Asia (DVA), a leading digital marketing agency, and FirstHealthAssist is designed to serve the public on emergency and non-emergency medical needs through an affordable and accessible approach. DVA chief executive officer Mark Lester Jackson stated that FirstHealthAssist aims to transform patient care through patient-focused solutions that are innovative and efficient.

Mark Lester Jackson expressed enthusiasm about the service’s potential benefits for the community’s well-being. Scheduled for launch in early 2025, FirstHealthAssist will feature real-time information and enhanced medical accessibility, allowing users to track the ambulance’s location and estimated arrival time. The app’s geo-m
apping services will also help users identify preferred healthcare facilities nearby.

Emergencies that require immediate medical attention and non-emergency situations such as hospital referrals and scheduled procedures can be addressed through FirstHealthAssist. The app will complement existing national emergency numbers and private hotlines, enhancing the emergency response ecosystem by providing greater access to specialised care.

Each ambulance associated with FirstHealthAssist will be equipped with comprehensive medical equipment and staffed by certified professionals, offered at a fraction of the current market cost. Initially serving users within the Klang Valley, the service is set to expand nationwide by 2026.

Future phases of the initiative will include two-wheel paramedic units for critical care, a Volunteer Emergency Responders Network, Smart Ambulances with telemedicine, and AI-driven diagnostic tools. These additional features aim to revolutionise emergency medical services, providing data-dr
iven emergency planning and predicting EMS service demand.
