Kangar: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, stated that the Asnaf Transformation Academy of MAIPs (ATAM) must prioritize holistic human capital development in its planning for the next five years. The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) president emphasized that the programs implemented should align with current needs, focusing on practical skills, entrepreneurship, employability, as well as financial and digital literacy.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin highlighted the necessity of an integrated approach to ensure that the asnaf in Perlis become not only skilled but also competitive and confident enough to live independently in the future. He made these remarks during the ATAM Board of Directors' Special Meeting held last night, which coincided with the three-day MAIPs Ziarah Mahabbah Programme to the Andaman Region 2026 beginning yesterday.
Furthermore, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin emphasized the importance of strengthening governance, monitoring, and evaluation processes. He stressed that each program should be assessed based on outcomes and impact rather than participation numbers or expenditure. He advocated for the use of data, analysis, and feedback to enhance existing approaches and ensure that funds are managed with integrity, transparency, and effectiveness.
The Raja Muda of Perlis underscored that ATAM's mission extends beyond implementing short-term training or programs. He envisions ATAM as a strategic institution that transforms the asnaf from 'dependency' to 'capability,' transitioning individuals from 'recipients' to 'contributors.' He insisted that the direction must be clear, focused, and centered on creating a real impact on the lives of the asnaf.
Earlier, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, along with the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, attended a dinner with Krabi province leaders and officials, including Governor Angkoon Seelatewakul and Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Deputy Director of Operations (Army) Colonel Pratharn Talapthong.
