Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on the public to evaluate the government’s policies and efforts based on factual information rather than political sentiment. He highlighted that despite the government’s implementation of various initiatives, misinformation continues to spread, particularly concerning fuel and commodity prices, which are reportedly decreasing contrary to some claims.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized the importance of providing clarification in a democratic country. He addressed false claims about rising fuel prices during interviews at a gathering in Dataran Merdeka, urging citizens to rely on facts rather than politically charged narratives. Anwar expressed openness to improvement if shortcomings are identified, reiterating the government’s commitment to listening and making necessary adjustments.
Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, acknowledged that while not all government initiatives are perfect, continuous efforts are made to address issues. He also expressed readiness for the Opposition to table a vote of no confidence against his leadership in the Dewan Rakyat, viewing it as a legitimate democratic process. Anwar responded to Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin’s comments about considering such a motion by affirming openness to the process.
During the closed-door event, Anwar engaged with PKR members and delivered a presidential address, reinforcing his commitment to transparency and democratic values.
