Anwar Congratulates SK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) as Finalist for World’s Best School Prizes

Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim congratulated the teachers and students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) for being selected as one of the 10 finalists for the World’s Best School Prizes 2025. “Congratulations to the educators and children of SK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) for this recognition. Your efforts and dedication are an inspiration to all,” he said in a post on X.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, SK Putrajaya Presint 11 (1) was listed as one of the top 10 finalists for the World’s Best School Prizes 2025, specifically for the Supporting Healthy Lives category. The prize organiser, T4 Education, highlighted on its website that the public primary school is addressing mental health and wellbeing challenges through an innovative mobile app called HELPIE.

This app, designed and developed by students for their peers, makes mental health support accessible and engaging. Its features include gamification to make emotional awareness enjoyable, self-assessment tools for students to monitor stress levels, and a chat feature linked to an online therapist for quick counselling access.

Furthermore, T4 Education noted that the app includes printed cards for guided activities, which integrate app content into real-world contexts. This allows children to engage individually or in groups, fostering open discussions about emotions. The app also powers a stress support system that organises awareness campaigns to ensure an inclusive experience for the community.

To accommodate students with limited digital resources, the app is installed on school-provided tablets accessible throughout the school day. Since its implementation, the school has observed a significant 60 per cent reduction in student stress levels. Over 90 per cent of students now have a better understanding of their emotions, and 87 per cent report improved awareness of their stress levels.

Teachers have expressed feeling more equipped to support students emotionally, noting a 40 per cent improvement in classroom behaviour. Parents and the broader community have also become more engaged in supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing. T4 Education remarked that SK Putrajaya Precinct 11 (1) has successfully created a balanced learning environment where children feel safe and understood, allowing them to thrive.
