Allianz General Partners With Fashion Chamber Malaysia To Launch Customised Insurance Product

Kuala lumpur: Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd has joined forces with International Fashion Chamber Malaysia Bhd to introduce the Allianz Business Shield Package Insurance tailored specifically for businesses within the fashion industry. This collaboration aims to safeguard fashion enterprises against routine operational risks while also offering event-specific insurance coverage for activities such as fashion shows.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Allianz General’s deputy chief sales officer, Sazali Abd Rahman, emphasized that this partnership seeks to empower Malaysia’s dynamic fashion sector, allowing the insurance company to contribute to the growth of the local fashion scene by providing protection against various risks. He highlighted the introduction of fashion risks and operational coverage (FROC) as a crucial and customized protection measure that will enable fashion entrepreneurs to concentrate on creativity and business expansion.

The launch of the national fashion platform, MyFashionChamber, was marked by the announcement, bringing together designers, educators, artisans, and innovators with a shared mission to merge creativity with commerce and elevate Malaysia’s position in the global fashion industry. The platform aspires to address long-standing structural issues in the fashion sector, aiming to make Malaysia a significant player on the global stage by bridging gaps between talent, trade, education, and international market access.

International Fashion Chamber Malaysia’s CEO, Jay Ishak, emphasized the critical need for risk protection in the fashion industry, especially during international events, and expressed gratitude for Allianz General’s involvement in fulfilling this essential need. She noted that convincing Allianz, traditionally focused on sports, to consider fashion as an area deserving similar protection was a year-long effort.

Dr. Leena Al-Mujahed, chairperson of International Fashion Chamber Malaysia, described MyFashionChamber as an ecosystem fostering talent and innovation, preparing Malaysia’s creative voice for the international market. Furthermore, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation’s deputy CEO (export acceleration), Abu Bakar Yusof, expressed MATRADE’s support for the initiative and optimism about assisting the Chamber in its endeavors.
