AKPS Denies Entry To 99 Foreign Arrivals At KLIA For Failing Immigration Checks

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) denied entry to 99 foreign arrivals at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 yesterday after they failed security screenings.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agency’s corporate communications unit stated that the arrivals were denied entry to the country following detailed checks of over 400 individuals in a special seven-hour operation targeting high-risk flights. The individuals who were denied entry included 80 Bangladeshi, 10 Indian, and nine Pakistani men. They were denied entry due to failing to meet immigration checks, which included having suspicious reasons for visiting and travel records.

The agency further explained that those denied entry underwent additional documentation processes before being deported to their countries of origin in accordance with existing legal procedures. The checks involved background screening, verification of travel documents, and individual interviews.

AKPS emphasized that such enforcement measures would be periodically intensified as a proactive strategy to combat human trafficking and the misuse of social visit passes.
