Kuching: Mastering artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer optional but essential for building a progressive, inclusive, and competitive society, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. Fadillah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, emphasized the importance of enhancing digital skills in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape. He stated that this is a shared responsibility that benefits not only individuals but also families and the wider community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadillah shared his insights in a Facebook post today, stressing that learning has no age limit. He highlighted the noble pursuit of seeking knowledge, which benefits not just individuals but also those around them. Fadillah underscored the need to continually improve skills and adapt to digital transformation in a world that is constantly changing.
Earlier, Fadillah visited the ‘AI for MY Future’ training programme, which took place in the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency at the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) in Kuching. The programme gathered 150 participants, including 51 community leaders, 33 teachers, and 24 entrepreneurs, focusing on the application of AI in various areas such as data analytics, document creation, and digital management and reporting.
During the event, Fadillah highlighted the value of tools like Microsoft Co-Pilot, especially for community leaders who often work without sufficient administrative support. He noted that with such tools, these leaders could carry out their duties more efficiently and professionally, from preparing reports and communication materials to managing data.
Fadillah expressed gratitude to the organisers and encouraged the expansion of similar initiatives to other areas. He conveyed a message to all participants, stating that with the knowledge and understanding of AI and digital transformation, individuals could not only enhance their capabilities but also drive meaningful change within their communities.
