Melaka: A total of 713 Form Four students from 61 schools in Melaka, who come from less privileged backgrounds, received tablets to ease their learning activities which involve elements of technology and digital tools.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh stated that the student tablets were contributed by the federal government under the Anak Kita: Semarak Potensi Malaysia Programme. He emphasized the importance of preparing children for the digital world and future technological advancements, including artificial intelligence (AI). He highlighted the necessity of instilling digital learning at this stage while also maintaining human civilisation and Islamic values as guiding principles.
The event was attended by notable figures such as the State Secretary Datuk Azhar Arshad, director-general of the MADANI Monitoring Unit at the Prime Minister’s Office Mohd Khalid Mohamed Latif, and acting director of the State Education Department, Karim Tumin.
Mohd Khalid, during his speech, mentioned that the Anak Kita Programme is designed to support students nationwide in their learning recovery efforts. He pointed out that the initiative targets improving Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results, ensuring students not only pass but also achieve better outcomes. Additionally, measures will be implemented to re-engage students who have dropped out and to guarantee that all children receive quality education without exclusion.
