Teenager Dies After Motorcycle Catches Fire in Collision with Car

Kota Bharu: A 17-year-old boy died in an accident when the motorcycle he was riding caught fire after it was believed to have collided with a car at Sultan Yahya Petra Bridge here yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kota Bharu district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud stated that the incident occurred at approximately 10.55 pm. The victim was riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle from Kota Bharu towards Pasir Pekan when he attempted to overtake a vehicle. Unfortunately, he failed to re-enter his lane and collided with a Perodua Viva coming from the opposite direction.

The collision resulted in the victim’s immediate death at the scene. His body was taken to the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the driver of the car, who sustained injuries to his hand, was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
