Kuala lumpur: The climax of the 2026 Rain Rave Music Festival, attended by approximately 30,000 visitors at Bukit Bintang, was successfully conducted without any untoward incidents, ensuring a safe and controlled environment for all festival-goers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus reported that the overall level of security, public order, and traffic flow throughout the festival's closing event was commendable. Despite the positive assessment, police arrested a 28-year-old local woman who was found in possession of a knife. "The suspect will be brought to court this morning for remand," Datuk Fadil stated during a press conference after the festival's closing ceremony.
Besides the arrest of the woman, police also conducted several preventive arrests during the festival involving individuals deemed suspicious. However, Datuk Fadil confirmed that none of these individuals tested positive for drugs or were involved in any other criminal activities. The festival, featuring a variety of entertainment performances by local artists and international DJs, was held in conjunction with the Labour Day celebration as part of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign.
To ensure the smooth running of the three-day event, a total of 500 officers and police personnel were deployed nightly. The deployment involved members from the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters (IPK), six districts in the capital, and assistance from Bukit Aman, according to Datuk Fadil.
