Individuals With Restricted Accounts, Removed Content Advised To Appeal To Tribunal

Kuala lumpur: Individuals facing social media account restrictions or content removal are advised to file an appeal through the Communications, Multimedia and Online Safety Appeal Tribunal. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching stated that the tribunal is chaired by a High Court judge along with at least two other tribunal members.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this tribunal serves as an ad hoc appeal body, independent from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and is overseen by a High Court judge. Deputy Minister Teo emphasized the importance of this channel for those encountering such issues, encouraging public use of the tribunal for appeals.

In a related matter, Teo, who is also the Kulai MP, mentioned that a total of RM5.4 million had been allocated to the education sector within her parliamentary constituency from 2022 until the previous year. This funding was specifically directed towards schools under the federal government's jurisdiction.

Teo highlighted her efforts in ensuring that appropriate allocations are made to every school within the Kulai parliamentary constituency, with complete applications receiving due attention. She also noted that the allocation included contributions aimed at supporting 432 outstanding Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students, with a total of RM555,661 allocated over the same period.
