Kuala lumpur: Imigresen FC (IFC) is set to unveil a new identity next season through a rebranding exercise aimed at building stronger fan support, particularly in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said further details on the matter would be announced in the near future after discussions are finalised.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the club will undergo a rebranding exercise, and a new team name will be introduced as part of this initiative. Saifuddin Nasution mentioned that several fresh ideas are being considered, with the focus on establishing a new identity that aligns with the team's presence in the northern zone. This move is aimed at positioning the team among fans in Kedah and Perlis, areas currently lacking Super League representation.
Saifuddin Nasution expressed confidence that a new identity would help IFC build a larger and more vibrant fan base for the next season. He also noted that IFC's debut season in the Super League has been commendable, with the team placing among the top six in the league standings. The management has successfully managed logistical support, finances, and sponsorships as planned.
Saifuddin Nasution also mentioned that bonuses might be awarded to players to recognize their commitment and performance throughout the season. Additionally, the team plans to resolve its home venue arrangements for the upcoming season, having played at the Penang State Stadium in Batu Kawan and the Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium in Kangar, Perlis this season.
