Government Focuses on Enhancing Digital and AI Education, Says Fadhlina

Kota Kinabalu: The government is intensifying efforts to strengthen the digital and artificial intelligence (AI) education ecosystem through various initiatives in stages. Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek announced this focus on enhancing infrastructure and aligning with national education policies during a seminar held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina Sidek emphasized the government’s commitment to reforming the education system by integrating digital, technology, and AI education into the new educational implementation plan. She highlighted the importance of this integration as a shared investment in nurturing the identity and character of the younger generation.

Fadhlina stressed the necessity of maintaining fundamental values such as ethics and character amid rapid technological advancements. She noted that steps are being taken to incorporate character building into the new curriculum set for 2027. Despite the evolution of technology, Fadhlina underscored that technology will never replace the essential role of teachers, emphasizing the need for both teachers and students to adapt to technological developments.

Additionally, Fadhlina addressed recent claims regarding the revocation of a silver medal from a male athlete in the Under-15 category at the Semporna District Schools Sports Council cross-country meet. She assured that the Ministry is aware of the issue and is prepared to resolve it amicably, with room for discussion and investigation if necessary.

As the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia results are set to be announced next Thursday, Fadhlina extended her best wishes to all candidates, expressing hope that the results would inspire them to continue their education.
