Tebrau: The government will discuss the suggestion to raise the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) quota for delivery riders to 250 litres at the National Economic Action Council on Tuesday. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced this initiative, highlighting the need to ensure the welfare of delivery riders, who currently share the same 200-litre monthly limit as regular consumers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that the matter would be carefully reviewed, aiming to adjust the quota to better suit the needs of delivery riders. "I will bring (the matter) up for discussion at this Tuesday's meeting. Because they get 200 litres the same as us, RON95 only 200 litres. So I said, I will remind Fahmi (Datuk Fahmi Fadzil), we will find a way at least raise it by 50 litres, (to) 250 litres," he stated during a gathering with the Johor community at the Taman Desa Mutiara People's Housing Project Open Hall.
Anwar revealed that the proposal to increase the fuel quota originated from his interactions with delivery riders, who shared their concerns about the current limitations. This move aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by these essential workers.
In addition to addressing the fuel quota, Anwar announced an immediate allocation of RM1 million for repairs at the Taman Desa Mutiara People's Housing Project. This decision came after he listened to complaints from the residents' committee. "I approve RM1 million first. at least for what's pressing. If anything is broken, doors of such, we will repair them," he assured.
Furthermore, Anwar directed the immediate repair of non-functioning toilets at Sekolah Bukit Mutiara after the issue was raised by residents during the event. He underlined the government's commitment to maintaining infrastructure and providing affordable fuel, citing the stable RON95 price of RM1.99 per litre as a testament to the country's strong diplomatic ties and cooperative governance.
