This year's ASA, themed 'Segalanya Bermula Di Sini,' will feature a Broadway-style musical concept, celebrating the evolution of Malaysia's broadcasting industry alongside the 80th anniversary of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). Introduced in 1972, the awards aim to honor the contributions and efforts of industry players, including production crews, producers, designers, radio announcers, programme hosts, and technical teams who have supported the success of the country's creative industry.
Malaysia is targeting an increase in the local creative industry's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to between seven and 10 percent this year. As of April 2026, the creative industry has contributed 6.8 percent to the country's GDP, thanks to the continuous commitment of the Communications Ministry and its agencies.
