Bachok:An eight-year-old boy, Azuar Firdaus Zuraiman, was seriously injured following an attack by stray dogs at Pantai Kuala Kemasin. He has received a rabies vaccination and is being monitored for three weeks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azuar's mother, Rosnani Mat Salleh, reported that her son is showing positive signs of recovery after initially being traumatized and withdrawn. He has started talking and can recount the incident.
The attack occurred as Azuar was playing on the beach with relatives when five stray dogs approached. While the others managed to escape, Azuar fell and was targeted by the dogs. He attempted to flee into the sea but was pursued until rescued. He sustained injuries to his head, neck, and hand and underwent a five-hour surgery.
Rosnani noted the visit by Norazan Mat Nor, deputy director of the Kelantan Education Department's Student Development Sector, who acknowledged the incident's rarity. The department is monitoring Azuar's recovery, and he is expected to be discharged soon.
