YOTEL and Medical Centre Project Achieves Construction Milestone in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala lumpur: A new generation of smart hospitality is set to debut in Malaysia with the development of YOTEL Kuala Lumpur, following a major construction milestone achieved by the YOTEL and Medical Centre integrated project. Developed in partnership with High Street Holdings, the project introduces the internationally recognised YOTEL brand to Malaysia for the first time, featuring approximately 290 rooms alongside lifestyle and wellness facilities, co-working spaces, and an integrated medical centre.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the project's official groundbreaking and topping-out ceremony on Friday marked significant progress in the development of the mixed-use hospitality and healthcare destination located at 82, Jalan Raja Chulan in Kuala Lumpur's city centre. The ceremony brought together industry leaders, project stakeholders, consultants, business partners, contractors, and members of the media to commemorate the commencement of the medical centre and the structural completion milestone of the hotel development.

JD Hospitality founder and chief executive officer, Mohamed Abdul Jaleel, in a statement, described the project as the group's most significant overseas investment since entering the Malaysian market in 2019. He emphasized that the development reflects the group's long-term commitment to Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. While YOTEL represents its hospitality expansion ambitions, the Medical Centre carries a more personal significance. He stated that a hospital has always been a lifelong dream, not just as a business aspiration, but as a place where people are cared for with competence and compassion. The medical centre aims to provide quality healthcare in a healing, human-centred environment.

The integrated development is expected to become a new landmark in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, combining hospitality and healthcare services under one destination. Sunray Construction and Interior Sdn Bhd Managing Director Tony Leong said the ceremony symbolised the successful transformation of vision and partnership into reality. He noted that the conversion of Menara MIDF into YOTEL Kuala Lumpur is being carried out alongside the development of a Medical Centre, set to enhance the city's healthcare landscape with medical infrastructure and services.

Located within the Golden Triangle district, the development is in proximity to landmarks including the Petronas Twin Towers, Bukit Bintang, and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with access to the Raja Chulan Monorail and Bukit Bintang MRT stations. The integrated project is expected to contribute positively to Malaysia's tourism, medical travel, and economic sectors, reinforcing Kuala Lumpur's position as a regional hub for business, leisure, and lifestyle experiences. Upon completion, the YOTEL and Medical Centre project is poised to become a prominent addition to the city's skyline, serving both local and international visitors.
