Kuala lumpur: The UMNO Annual General Assembly is set to commence tomorrow and will continue until July 12, gathering delegates from its divisions and Women's, Youth, and Puteri wings across the nation. This assembly aims to fortify the party's ranks and renew its dedication to the party, the populace, and the nation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister, emphasized that this year's assembly occurs within a challenging global context characterized by economic pressures, technological advances, and social challenges. These circumstances necessitate that UMNO proactively strategizes to provide optimal solutions for the people.
He underscored that despite UMNO's 80-year history, the party must embrace change, adapt wisely, and remain resolute to meet the expectations of the people. Ahmad Zahid expressed hope that the assembly will reinforce the Rumah Bangsa agenda and Musyawarah Nasional initiative, fostering unified thought, strengthening national institutions, and encouraging broader cooperation for Malaysia's benefit.
Ahmad Zahid urged delegates to utilize the assembly for constructive engagement, mature expression of views, and prioritizing party and people's interests. He expressed confidence that UMNO will continue to be a trusted platform and significant force in national development, wishing all members a productive assembly with the rallying cry, "Bersatu (United), Bersetia (Loyal), Berkhidmat (To Serve). Long live UMNO."
