Woman’s Body Found in Bag: Main Suspect Remanded for Seven Days

Bangkok: The main suspect in the case of discovering a woman's body in a bag buried in a house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, Rembau, has been remanded for seven days starting today. The Negeri Sembilan deputy police chief SAC Muhammad Idzam Jaafar confirmed that the remand order was issued by Magistrate Nurul Farha Sulaiman at the Magistrate's Court.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 51-year-old suspect was brought by police from the Rembau district headquarters and arrived at approximately 9.45 am. He was represented by lawyer Sean Dudley. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Muhammad Idzam previously reported that the suspect was apprehended in the Genting Sempah area, within 24 hours of the arrest of the first suspect in Melaka, the previous evening. The first suspect, a 41-year-old male, has been remanded until Thursday.

The true identity of the woman's body remains unidentified as the condition of the body was decomposed, suggesting the victim had been deceased for more than three days. Muhammad Idzam stated that police are actively pursuing at least three more suspects linked to the case, and numerous witness statements have been collected.

He further mentioned that DNA samples from several family members have been taken due to the inability to identify the victim from the decomposed remains. Initial investigations indicate that the house where the body was discovered is connected to the main suspect, who is currently unemployed, though this connection has yet to be confirmed.
