Ipoh: A slope collapse at Kilometre (KM) 263.6 of the North-South Expressway, heading south from the Menora Tunnel towards Ipoh, caused a 15-kilometre traffic jam this evening.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) in a post on X reported that the incident, which occurred at 4.28 pm, initially blocked the left lane and resulted in a four-kilometre traffic congestion.
An update at 6.28 pm revealed that the congestion had grown to 15 kilometres as cleanup operations continued at the site.
The post detailed, 'Due to a slope collapse at KM 263.6 southbound from the Tunnel towards Ipoh (North), the left lane is blocked. There is a four-kilometre traffic jam. Cleanup works are still underway. Traffic congestion spans 15km. Please drive carefully in the rain!'
LLM also advised highway users to exercise caution when passing through the area, especially during rainy weather.
