Batu pahat: A weak earthquake measuring 3.1 magnitude struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor, at 4.12 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) announced that the epicentre was located at coordinates 1.7 degrees north and 102.8 degrees east, approximately 18 kilometres south-west of Batu Pahat. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.
MetMalaysia confirmed in a statement released by the National Weather and Earthquake Operations Centre that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
