Kuala lumpur: Unity among component parties in the Unity Government must be maintained to ensure political stability and continuity in the country's administration. Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu emphasized this point, stating that the fall of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government after the 14th General Election (GE14) should serve as a lesson, particularly in avoiding internal divisions that could undermine the people's mandate.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu highlighted that the unity built within the government is vital and must be preserved. He warned that any failure of the government would likely result from internal issues rather than external attacks. Mohamad conveyed these thoughts during a ceramah on current issues held last night.
The Agriculture and Food Security Minister urged all parties within the government to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and to resolve any differences through proper internal channels instead of public debates. He advised that aspirations for the prime ministerial position should be pursued through party and election processes, not through 'backdoor' methods.
Mohamad also underscored the significance of strengthening cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN). He noted that this collaboration has demonstrated its ability to foster political stability in the country, thereby enhancing their prospects in the next election. Despite being former political rivals, Mohamad pointed out that many issues can now be resolved through negotiations, avoiding open disputes.
