Kuala lumpur: Any proposals or calls made at the UMNO Youth Special Convention, including those related to the party's position in the Unity Government, will be submitted for consideration by the UMNO Supreme Council, Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said. He emphasized that while the youth wing's views at the convention were within their rights, the ultimate decisions regarding UMNO's direction would follow the party's established decision-making structure.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zambry mentioned that the opinions shared by the Youth wing, as highlighted by UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, are to be referred to the Supreme Council. He noted that any suggestions or steps proposed will be forwarded to the higher party leadership, namely the UMNO Supreme Council. This statement was made after Zambry participated in the handover of assistance to 1,350 students under the Back to School programme.
Zambry, who also holds a position on the UMNO Supreme Council, stated that the party's decision-making process is conducted collectively and maturely, adhering to UMNO's traditions and practices. The UMNO Youth Special Convention, which took place at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) yesterday, included discussions on UMNO's direction within the Unity Government.
