Kangar: Perlis UMNO will appoint community representatives in the three state constituencies declared vacant recently to serve residents there. Perlis UMNO chief Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman stated that this initiative aims to ensure that residents in Guar Sanji, Bintong (Kangar), and Chuping (Padang Besar) do not feel abandoned and remain represented, despite the party not holding a single seat in the state.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rozabil emphasized the party's commitment to act as a community representative at various levels, including village, constituency, and state. He assured that Perlis UMNO would specifically focus on these areas lacking elected representatives to help the people feel supported and to provide assistance as effectively as possible. This announcement was made during a media conference following a Perlis UMNO meeting.
Rozabil also revealed plans for Perlis UMNO to tour all 15 state constituencies as part of early preparations for the 16th general election. This effort will concentrate on strengthening party machinery at district voting centers, enhancing preparedness in all three parliamentary constituencies, and strengthening ties between UMNO and the public. He mentioned that the tour would culminate in a grand finale event, with invitations extended to central leadership to attend.
