Gua Musang:Two men were injured after being slashed with a sword during a confrontation at a rubber store in RPT Kesedar Sungai Terah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Gua Musang police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo reported that the incident occurred at 8.30 pm and involved men aged 33 and 40, who suffered face and arm injuries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the altercation happened while individuals were attempting to resolve a dispute regarding the dumping of broken mosaic pieces and damage to a CCTV camera at the store. A 27-year-old man allegedly drew a sword hidden behind his back, and when one of the victims tried to intervene, a scuffle ensued, leading the suspect to swing the sword.
The first victim sustained an 18-centimetre laceration on his left cheek, while the second victim suffered a five-centimetre cut on his right arm. One victim is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
The suspect attempted to flee but was detained by bystanders and handed over to the police. Authorities seized a sword in a wooden sheath and a knife for the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons, with a remand application to be made against the suspect. Supt Sik advised the public to avoid aggression and weapon use during disputes, suggesting peaceful resolution or reporting to authorities instead.
