Man Found Dead After Vehicle Plunges Into Ravine in Gua Musang

Gua Musang:A local man was tragically killed after the four-wheel-drive vehicle he was driving skidded and plunged into a ravine approximately 100 meters deep at Jalan Ladang Pos Pulat. The vehicle, along with the victim, was discovered two days following the incident.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Gua Musang police chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, reported that the police received information from a member of the public at 4:30 pm about the Toyota Hilux found at the ravine's bottom, with the victim unconscious and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred last Sunday, two days before the discovery. Information from the victim's wife indicated that his last known location was detected on Sunday afternoon near the incident site.

On October 6, a colleague of the victim went to the area of the last known location to search for him and subsequently found the Toyota Hilux at the bottom of the ravine. Superintendent Sik stated that the victim was believed to have been driving downhill when the vehicle skidded into the ravine, with no witnesses to the incident.

The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department assisted in retrieving the victim's body, which was then sent to the Forensic Unit of Gua Musang Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers reckless or dangerous driving resulting in death. Further investigations are underway to determine the actual cause of the accident and the circumstances surrounding it.
