Seri menanti: The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, has urged for continued efforts to enhance measures addressing the cost of living, aiming to ensure none in the state are left behind, particularly focusing on low- and middle-income groups.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, His Royal Highness emphasized the need to sustain progress made in reducing extreme poverty through targeted assistance, effective price controls, bolstered food security, and the systematic expansion of income-generating opportunities. He called on the populace to practice prudent spending, enhance their knowledge and skills, and support state government initiatives. He also stressed the importance of intensifying the provision of healthcare facilities and improving the quality of health services as a crucial step in enhancing the quality of life.
At the investiture ceremony held in conjunction with his 78th birthday at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Tuanku Muhriz expressed hope that the proposed construction of the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Hospital in Nilai would be prioritized. This initiative, alongside the upgrading and expansion of Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban, is expected to strengthen the state's healthcare services.
On the educational front, Tuanku Muhriz noted the encouraging upward trend in the state's educational performance, attributing it to the commitment of all involved parties. He highlighted the need for continued strengthening of education alongside nurturing strong character and moral values. His Royal Highness expressed concern over social issues affecting the youth, such as drug abuse and gang activities, underscoring the pivotal role of education in shaping the character and identity of children.
Tuanku Muhriz praised the efforts of the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council in implementing the Aulad Sejahtera Module at the preschool level, which focuses on instilling noble values in daily life. He advocated for secondary students to participate in school associations and clubs to build identity, character, and leadership skills. Participation in uniformed bodies and various clubs was highlighted as essential in instilling discipline, social responsibility, and values of care, cooperation, and volunteerism.
In his address, Tuanku Muhriz reiterated the importance of unity, reflecting the people's willingness to understand, respect, and cooperate despite differences. He expressed confidence that a comprehensive education approach, grounded in the Aulad Sejahtera Module, would nurture a future generation with a strong sense of unity. He emphasized that this call for unity and education applies to all societal levels across races and religions, stressing the need for collective efforts to guide the younger generation toward a prosperous future for the state and the nation.
