SSM’s Corporate Registry System Achieves Over 162,000 Approved Transactions

Kuala Lampur:The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has reported 162,730 approved transactions as of September 15 since the launch of its Corporate Registry System (CRS) on July 14, aimed at enhancing digital corporate registration services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, SSM's acting chief executive officer Rezy Izwan Ramly stated that the transactions included 9,514 new company incorporations. The implementation of the system is part of SSM's efforts to modernize corporate registration services in Malaysia.

To assist with filing matters, SSM has extended the waiver of late filing fees through the CRS until December 31, 2026. This extension is intended to provide stakeholders with additional time to complete relevant filings and meet their compliance obligations.

The announcement was made during the SSM 2026 Annual Dialogue for the Northern Zone, attended by over 240 participants, including company directors, company secretaries, professional bodies, business associations, and government agency representatives. The event featured briefings on the CRS, the Compliance Clinic initiative, and the 2026 Statutory Document Recovery Campaign. There was also a presentation on proposed amendments to the Companies Act 2016 regarding the Sustainability Reporting Framework and an explanation of Practice Directive 11/2026 related to the filing of shareholder and share capital information.

The Northern Zone session marks the first for 2026, with additional sessions planned in Kuching, Sarawak on October 12 and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on October 14.
