SSM National Conference 2026 Calls for Responsible Digital Transformation in Business

Kuala lumpur: The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), the organiser of the 15th SSM National Conference 2026 (SSMNC2026), has called on the business community to embrace responsible digital transformation, strengthen trust through good governance, drive efficiency through innovation, and make sustainability a cornerstone of long-term business success.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the conference, themed "Navigating Business in the Digital Era: Trust. Efficiency. Sustainability," is aligned with the aspirations of the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13) and explores how organisations can harness digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), data-driven decision-making, and emerging technologies.

Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), Senator Datuk Dr. Fuziah Salleh, highlighted that the future of Malaysia's corporate sector depends not only on technological advancement but also on the ability to make sound decisions grounded in values, integrity, and good governance. She expressed her confidence that with commitment and collective effort, Malaysia's corporate landscape can be strengthened to remain competitive, progressive, and sustainable.

The two-day hybrid conference was attended by SSM Chief Executive Officer Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz, KPDN Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Roziah Abudin, and SSM senior management. It attracted more than 2,300 participants, including international delegates.

During the event, Fuziah launched SSM's new digital platform, the Corporate Registry System (CRS), which integrates various registry services into a single, modern, efficient, and user-friendly ecosystem in line with SSM's digital transformation agenda. The CRS, operational since July 14, is being implemented in phases to ensure an orderly and effective transition from the existing system to the new platform.

Phase 1 covers corporate entity-related matters and replaces MyCoID and e-Secretary, as well as various statutory document filing services for companies that were previously handled over the counter. Phases 2 and 3, scheduled for implementation by the end of 2026, will cover business entities and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP), among others. The CRS allows various document filing processes to be conducted online via the SSM4U portal, with access available 24/7.

The SSM National Conference 2026 features 16 plenary sessions and a Company Secretary Masterclass, bringing together prominent speakers from various institutions and the corporate sector. Notable speakers include former Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, Capital A Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, and renowned fashion designer Melinda Looi.
