Kulai: A total of 316 pupils were the first to start schooling at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bandar Putra 2 in Kulai, Johor, which officially commenced operations today, said Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching. She highlighted the school's initial operations involve preschool classes, the Integrated Special Education Programme (PPKI), as well as Year Two, Three, and Five pupils.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Teo, who is also the Kulai Member of Parliament, stated that the opening of the school would help ease overcrowding at SK Bandar Putra and SK Putra Utama due to the rapid development of surrounding residential areas. "These operations will ensure local children can pursue knowledge in a more comfortable, conducive, and uncrowded environment," she said in a Facebook post today.

She further explained that the project was proposed and planned during her tenure as Deputy Education Minister to address the issue of student density in the area. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in August 2021, with physical construction completed and the school handed over to the Education Ministry in November 2025.

The 76th school in the Kulai district, SK Bandar Putra 2, boasts 36 classrooms, along with facilities for preschool and PPKI. Teo also mentioned that the next focus is on overseeing the construction of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bandar Putra 3, which has 42 classrooms and was approved in Budget 2026, with surveying work and soil structure tests currently underway.
