Nagoya:National squash player S. Sivasangari successfully defended her Asian Games women's singles gold medal by defeating India's Anahat Singh 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 final.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this victory, achieved at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena, allows Sivasangari to retain the title she first claimed during the Hangzhou 2022 Games and ensures her participation in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28).

Sivasangari, hailing from Kedah, delivered a composed and impressive performance, marking a significant achievement for Malaysia as it brought the national contingent its sixth gold medal at the Games.

Her triumph follows the earlier success of Ng Eain Yow, who defended his title in the men's singles, contributing to Malaysia's target of six gold medals at the event.
